Samar-Leyte

Due to its proximity to the Pacific, these two big islands in the eastern Visayas are known regions most prone to typhoons. While sailing west to Ladrones Islands, Magellan, the portuguese navigator who first set foot in the country, accidentally landed in the southern coast of Samar. Until now no one can explain what exactly caused his landing. His arrival was rather presumed the first trans-pacific voyage in history

Leyte played an important role during the 2nd world war- witnessing the dramatic return of General Macarthur to fulfill his promise to save the struggling Filipinos from the hands of the Japanese invaders. On the 20th of October 1944, the shore of Leyte witnessed his corps historic land ing.

An island filled with natural beauty normally attracts investors on tourism but Samar and Leyte moved far from the list of most visited regions. Sights of potential development were planned but the lack of facilities, technical access and discouraging rumors of rebellion in potential areas prevented these from happening.

Only adventure travelers with experiences on remote explorations bravely moved in to the almost inaccessible interiors particularly of Samar. Negative but turned out beneficial for keeping its hidden beauty from being unreasonably exploited.

The massive winds of the Pacific make surfing a worthwhile activity in rugged coastlines of these two islands. Unfortunately, the rumors of military activity and poor transportation have discouraged travelers particularly surfers from exploring more of its surfing sites.

Samar is the east central part of the Philippines, the third largest (after Luzon and Mindanao). Belonging to the Visayas group, Samar has an area of 13,080 sq/km. It lies between the Samar and Philippine seas and is separated from the Bicol Peninsula (northwest of Luzon) by the San Bernardino Strait. A bridge across San Juanico Strait connects Samar with Leyte to the southwest. Unlike other islands in the Visayas that are characterized with high mountains, Samar’s landforms are low but exceedingly hilly, with heights ranging from 500 to 1000 feet, culminating in Mt. Capotoan, which measures 846 m. Lowlands are restricted to a coastal border and to small rivers running in plain patterns, floodplains and deltas.

Small but Terribly Cool

"The largest island within a lake on an island within a lake on an island"-That's how they describe Taal Volcano while sightseeing at Tagaytay. The cool atmosphere while on the top of the altitude is really interesting. While the

Live the Magic!

Enchanted Kingdom is located in Sta.Rosa, Laguna. It's most recent attraction includes Space Shuttle which is considered the most "nerve-racking". It is a zone inspired by sci-fi films and the NASA space program o f the 1960s. Among other exciting attraction which are Log Jam and Water rapids that makes us wet all over. Surely its the best place for people who loves exciting and extreme rides to experience and "Live the Magic".

Sunset @ Manila Bay

They say a picture is worth a thousand words and in this case the photos show how beautiful the sunset is, but to really see how spectacular the Manila sunset is, you truly need to be here and see it for yourself.

Watching the bright of the day slowly transform into vibrant yellows and oranges and then fade into reds with the shimmering distortion of the colours reflecting off the water is magnificent. There are some things you just cannot get enough of, the Manila Bay sunset is one of them.

It is easy to be mesmerised by an object of beauty. To me this Manila Sunset photos capture the start of the yellow to orange colour blend during the sunset in Manila. It shows the almost mirror reflection off Manila Bay, where you can actually see the complete reflection off the bay.

In the foreground are yachts moored in the safety of the Manila Bay Yacht Club, what a great view they have

Cool Strawberries

Baguio is considered the summer capital of the Philippines because of its cool atmosphere. Well, I just went there last month and it didn't disappoint me; despite the threat of the climate change. It's really a cool place. Here in Baguio, located in Benguet, strawberries are abundant. It only grows in a cool climate that's why its hardly seen on the tropical lowland areas and provinces. Red and heart-shaped strawberries are really sweet. Moreover, it also comes in different versions. I got the chance to taste strawberry flavored "Taho" and strawberry jam. This idea is so perfect to beat the heat of the summer season!

Hey Monday Summer Escapade

As the new summer starts, I was so grateful to experience one of the most memorable birthday celebrations in my life. Honestly, it’s been years already when I’ve had experienced such-years and years ago.

This is my most awaited part of the summer-to enjoy, have fun and play around with the great beach. Together with adventurous group of friends, we all went island hopping to Pandanon Island, an island nearby Bohol. Well, the place is much like the white sands in Bantayan and Camotes. The good thing is, it would cost a lot much cheaper. And it will go all the ways less if a lot of people were able to come with us. The boat for maximum capacity for 30 persons was all but divided to by just the nine of us. Well, further information is all a total different story.
